Profile Alan is a Director of Impact Fire Ltd, an ISO 9001 accredited fire safety consultancy whose clients include: The Metropolitan Police, The British Museum, Luminar Leisure, Kier, London Borough of Hackney, London Borough of Bexley and many other highly respected organisations. He has been a Home Office Fire Advisor, and in that role represented the Home Office on the committee responsible for a guidance document to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and drafted the fire safety design guide for Police Custody Suites. He has an excellent knowledge of fire safety legislation and its application, and has a highly effective and popular teaching style. New to 2009: The new British Standard BS 9999 replaces all other British Standards relating to Fire Safety design with effect from spring 09 and the document has already been issued. Profile After a long corporate career in finance with the venture capital and private equity company 3i, Chad Murrin specialises in training in leadership and people development, finance and commercial acumen, and business development skills. He has designed and delivered training programmes and courses for a wide variety of clients including Beard Construction, Crown Agents, Ernst & Young, the University of Exeter Business School, Friends Provident plc, Reuters plc and Kingfisher plc.

Profile David is a full time practicing Health and Safety Manager and CDM Coordinator within a national company and has carried out the role since its introduction in 1994. He has experience of a very wide type of projects including high security prisons, leisure centres, educational establishments and laboratories, hotels and shops with a high public interface, as well as social housing. Before the introduction of the CDM Regulations, David was a client based project manager with a construction background that included site management with a major contractor as well as design management and claims analysis for a major architectural practice. Qualifications include corporate membership of the Chartered Institute of Building as well as the Institute of Occupational Safety And Health. An appreciation of the role of management is reflected in his membership of the Chartered Management Institute. As mid career training, David recently completed his Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health at University of Birmingham and is a Registered Member of the Association of Project Safety. David lectures on public as well as in-house courses as an adjunct to his day-to-day CDM duties and finds that the two activities complement each other.
